Emily Barnes | IBCLC
I am in my 8th year as an IBCLC. My initial interest in lactation began with having twins 12 years ago. I had always been passionate about breastfeeding, and I was determined to nurse my premature twins. Shortly after having them, I decided this was the career I wanted. I absolutely love working with new moms/parent's and babies, it brings me great joy. It is a very rewarding profession. I feel honored to be a part of a new mom and baby's journey. I also just started my third semester of the nursing program to add additional expertise to my love of working with new moms and babies. I hope to work in the hospital in post partum, while continuing to see moms and babies at home where they are comfortable in their own space.

I am a boy mom. 3 boys ranging in ages from 23-10. My experiences with breastfeeding were different with each child. This led me down the path of becoming an IBCLC. I completed my coursework through ASU, and clinical hours through AZ Breastfeeding Medicine and Wellness under the guidance of Dr. Cara Riek. I am passionate about providing compassionate, individualized lactation care, and helping families navigate the ups and downs of feeding. I work to help parents feel informed, confident and empowered to meet their feeding goals.
